The aim of this series of 12 guides, published every month throughout 1945, was to ‘help you get better results from your vegetable plot and your fruit garden’. The Museum’s Department of Documents holds a full set, and we’ll be re-posting these guides every month – February’s pamphlet will follow next month, the March pamphlet in March and…well, you get the idea.

The full set of Guides together with an informative commentary and historical introduction by horticultral expert Twigs Way has recently been published by Sabrestorm Publishing. The Hardback book is £9.99 and the ISBN is 9780955272356. Its in full colour and also includes some lovelly additional illustrations. I beleive the IWM shop also stock it. Well worth having a look at.
